Circular Environment
Originally conceived as an ephemeral piece for the exhibition Ambientes urbanos [Urban Environments, 1973–1974] at the Palacio de Bellas Artes, Ambiente circular seeks to trigger profound bodily sensations with its formal and chromatic characteristics. The piece is an example of the artist’s effort to design traversable sculptural/architectural experiments that could only be completed through audience participation; in this case, the public has to move the sculpture’s parts, which are equipped with wheels at the bottom.

The piece was destroyed at the end of the exhibition, but a replica was produced in 2007 under the artist’s supervision for the show The Age of Discrepancy.
