Lourdes Grobet has had a strong presence in transitional and contemporary artistic practice, first as a member of Grupo Proceso Pentágono and later as an individual artist with her work as a photographer.
Wrestlers is one of the most remarkable and well-known series in the artist's output, which she worked on since the early eighties. With an eye sensitive to the social spectacle associated with Mexican freestyle wrestling, Lourdes Grobet developed a wide repertoire of images in this universe, which are translated into social documents to understand another dimension of this practice.
