Camel Collective

Camel Collective has taken the last letters exchanged be-tween German philosophers Herbert Marcuse and Theodor W. Adorno as the occasion to further develop the practice of staging the material aspect of intellectual labor, and revealing forms of labor hidden from view in most forms of cultural production. The letters debate the revolutionary potentials of the student movements of 1969 in the US and Germany. In this work the artists investigate the meaning of embodying or “touching” theory, and ask about the role the sensuous has to play in the gap between text and world, or in other words, between theory and practice.
