MUAC: One Hundred Works
To present a collection, chiefly a Contemporary Art collection, might seem as a daring goal or, perhaps, a project that might be overlooked. But an art collection is also a hypothesis and a set of narratives. Since its delimitacion—through a selection of pieces kept and acquired by the University—the MUAC collection has, above all, been presented in thematic exhibitions that inevitably use it as raw material for a cultural-history narrative of sorts.

MUAC: One Hundred Works explores the museum’s collection as one that has reached a certain maturity that allows it to be offered up without excuses, in terms of sharing works with the public that are already a reference point in our imagination and collective thinking. We have selected works from a variety of genres and formats, which reveal the creativity of local artists over a period spanning slightly more than half a century, grouped around three parallel narratives that exemplify the task of critically accompanying the dilemmas of historic time.
