Juan Acha
Revolutionary Awakening explores the avant-garde artistic experiments that emerged in Lima during the late 1960s, which the Peruvian-Mexican art critic Juan Acha defined as a “revolutionary awakening.” Upon his arrival to Mexico in 1972, Juan Acha advocated for the expansion of this revolution across Latin America, inviting the youth to get involved in what he called a “cultural guerrilla.” This is the first exhibition organized with material from the Archivo Juan Acha, and also includes reenacted non-objectual art pieces along with artistic documentation.
