Julieta Aranda. Clear Coordinates for Our Confusion
In Clear Coordinates for Our Confusion, Julieta Aranda combines various disciplines and media in systemic sculptures, navigating the different fields in which we interact with time—personal, biological, scientific, geopolitical, economic, philosophical, literary, etc.—in order to recognize the poetic events in which it escapes the western anthropological machine’s thousand-year-old effort to domesticate it and turn it into a tool for planetary domination.

All living beings are entities in flux that borrow order from the universe and return disorder. Wouldn’t it be better, then, to learn to inhabit contradiction and confusion? Aranda’s conversations with time offer a series of coordinates to train ourselves toward that end.
