Kader Attia. A Descent into Paradise
The exhibition introduces the tension between the mythologies of Eurocentric modernity and the animist practices and concepts of various countries, the way in which political-artistic and personal power increasingly depends on the exploitation of damage through what the artist refers to as the field of emotion, and the perspective of multiple and distorted mirrors that form the counterimage of modernity experienced by the colonized.
Together, Kader Attia. A Descent into Paradise offers various perspectives on the interaction between the coloniality-modernity binary. In this sense, the exhibition becomes a space to reflect on the dynamics of power, redemption, and repair present in history.
