Los Carpinteros

The work of the Cuban collective Los Carpinteros departs from the premise that ideology is hidden within the functionality of things. It is on this basis that the collective builds a repertoire of works that problematizes both Cuban and global contexts in a register that never lacks of poetry or humor.

Although the curatorial proposal on their most recent artistic production, the exhibition evidences more than twenty years of practice during which Los Carpinteros have become experts in finding the place in everyday materiality from which the fissures in a regime of power can be imagined and, as a result, its narratives can be intervened.
