When in Doubt... Ask: A Retrocollective Exhibit of Mónica Mayer is the first exhibition to encompass the artist's broad range of production. Given the collaborative character that marks her work, the notion of a "retrocollective" here is preferable to that of a "retrospective". Overseen by Karen Cordero Reiman, this critical survey brings together two and three dimensional works, records of actions, sound and film recordings, bibliographic documents, and other archival materials, enabling a reading of Mayer's place in the construction of feminist practice in Mexico as well as of her way of making her voice heard in different active artistic practices.
