Brossa Poetry is a survey of the work of the Catalan poet Joan Brossa (1919-1998) from three main angles: the orality, the performative and the anti-poetry. Spanning from his early books up to his final plastic experiments, which include theatre, cinema, music and the action arts (gestures of which he was a pioneer). Brossa’s work is largely visual and performative but, above all, the work of a poet.

Brossa was a meticulous creator of strategies, insubordinate against the official culture: the so-called high culture which profits from the the contradictions of the system itself. Anti-intellectual, his work plays with impurity as a space that transits within the interrelation of languages and their constant crossings. The poetic understood as a whole.
