Digital Museum. Intelligences and Artifices
The international encounter Digital Museum.Intelligences and Artifices is a space for reimagining museums in the digital era. Its third edition seeks to explore and question digital practices in Latin American museums and connect these practices to global perspectives; it also recognizes the rich history of art and technology in the region and questions its dependence on Western digital narratives.
In Digital Museum, a group of international experts will redefine and problematize the digital practices of museums by incorporating themes involving Indigenous cultures, artistic perspectives, and the critical use of data and artificial intelligence (AI). This encounter thus seeks to broaden the discussion on how museums approach digital practices through pioneering contributions from Latin America.

2024 PROGRAM
Digital Museum.Intelligences and Artifices is an encounter organized by Fundación Telefónica Movistar México and MUAC.
This program forms part of the activities of El Aleph. Festival de Arte y Ciencia 2024.
Digital Museum is an initiative launched by the Fundación Telefónica Movistar México and MUAC in 2017, which involves organizing international encounters and a series of publications on digital technologies and their critical relationship with contemporary museum practices.
Its first edition conducted a mapping of what was occurring on the digital plane in museums and cultural institutions around the world, as registered in the publication Digital Museum: Futures and Possibilities (2019).
In its second edition, held in 2020 during the global crisis provoked by the COVID-19 pandemic, was conceived as an interactive forum for professionals from a variety of fields connected to museology. The critical memoirs of this encounter were collected in the publication Digital Museum: Citizenship and Culture 2020 (2022).
