Far from keeping his unique knowledge of the phenomenon of sound to himself, Antonio Russek has provided access to his extensive research and production in this field.
His vast body of work in the area of multidisciplinary art has influenced new generations of Mexican artists.
From the start, the musical activities of Antonio Russek have been linked to the theatrical arts. He has been involved in interdisciplinary events; sound environments for exhibitions; video art and installations; music for film, theater and dance; radio art; and sound sculpture, as well as in the construction of tools for interactive projects.
With a distinguished career and more than one hundred compositions to his name, Russek is a pioneer in what is now called “sound art”. He is a constant collaborator with a number of artists who are not strictly a part of the musical world, thus redefining the role of experimental music in our country.
