Five Decades in Spiral
With five decades of artistic career, Magali Lara is recognized for her contribution to feminist art in Mexico and Latin America. Her work—spanning painting, drawing, animation, objects, and printmaking—is distinguished by an expressive visual language where writing, space, and the representation of vegetal and bodily forms explore contemporary female experience. Through a combination of subtlety and humor, she addresses themes such as fragility, everyday violence, and erotic and existential aspects. Five Decades in Spiral presents an inverted narrative process of Magali Lara´s trajectory, moving backward in time.
