Almost nothing
A virtual and metaphorical recreation of the soundscapes we clearly listen to in the distance, inside our room through the window, in a park, away from the noisy streets etc.
A new world which benefits and depends on a structural and textural complexity of the real world, our goal is to create these new processes by trying to imitate it.
Silence will also be an important element of this piece, as well as the relationship between linearity and nonlinearity between the continuous and discontinuous changes between different densities, from almost nothing to an average density, back to an almost nothing, to go again into a low average density...
Casi nada (Almost nothing) seeks to take advantage of the structural conditions of the EES which allow sound spatialization in 3 dimensions. This quality inevitably leads us to the soundscape, to listen in 360 degrees, and also with the idea of chance, the unexpected.
The Espacio de Experimentación Sonora -EES (Space for Sonorous Experimentation), is established as a place for creation, production and reproduction of sound art pieces. It is proposed as a malleable place that adapts and responds to different acoustic environments. A key objective of the ESS is the creation of an archive with works especially done in and out of the space. Casi nada (Almost nothing) is the first work commissioned in 2012 for this space.
