SINOPSIS

Toscano* establishes a comparison between the chronic character of HIV and a journey through time. This piece, which borrows its name from the original title of H.G. Wells’s The Time Machine, is composed of photograms and interviews with seropositive men, who discuss their experience of living with the infection.

Javier Toscano* (Mexico City, 1975) is a Doctor of Philosophy, visual artist, curator and researcher who works as a producer and researcher between Berlin and Mexico City. He is the founder of the Nerivela collective, which developed a social architecture project for the Venice Architecture Biennale. He also received an honorable mention from the CDA Foundation-Projects in Istanbul (2011) and the Best Art Practices award from the government of Bolzano, Italy (2008).
